Elderberries Workshop Parts 1 & 2

Everything you ever wanted to know about elderberries from planting to making plant medicine! Whether you are a backyard gardener or an orchard owner, these workshops are for YOU! Packed full of user friendly information plus the latest research from the 2025 International Elderberry Symposium. You may register for one part or both. Part 1 will be held from 1-3pm and Part 2 will be held from 3-4pm.
Part 1: From Seed to Harvest. 1-3pm.All you need to know to make you an expert elderberry grower including planting, maintaining, harvesting and pruning. Demonstrations on pruning and planting. Handouts provided.
Part 2: After the Harvest. 3-4pm Learn to make healthy recipes using elderberries. Interactive demonstrations and tastings. Recipes provided.

Lori Trojan is the Steward & Owner of Wild Ivy Herb Farm. Lori is a Serial Entrepreneur, Master Herbalist, Master Gardener, Educator, Farmer, Author, Mother and Grandmother. Lori raises over 80 varieties of kitchen and medicinal herbs and continues to expand a thriving elderberry orchard . Lori conducts workshops ranging from gardening and farming topics to business start-up courses to audiences from 30 to 3000. Wild Ivy Herb Farm is a boutique specialty farm in Lawrence, KS.

Workshops will be held outdoors. Please dress for expected weather conditions. Optional: Bring gardening gloves and a lopper tool. Wear closed-toe shoes. Bring a water bottle.

Directions: From K10, take the Iowa St./59 Highway exit and head south less than 5 miles. Take the 650 Road exit and turn east to 1450 Road. Go down the hill and look for the yellow house with green trim and hoophouses alongside. Please parallel park in front of the house and proceed into the large hoophouse where the workshops will be held.
